President Bush to Welcome President Aznar of Spain
Statement by the Deputy Press Secretary

President Bush Will Welcome Spanish President Jose Maria Aznar of Spain to the White House on May 7, 2003 for a meeting and working dinner. Spain stands among America's closest allies in the war on terrorism and the effort to bring peace and democracy to Iraq. Spain is a leader within Europe, a valuable member of NATO and the U.N. Security Council, and an important proponent of close Transatlantic relations.
