Nominations and Designations
President Bush Announced His Intention to Nominate Two Individuals and Designate One to Serve as Members of His Administration

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate two individuals and designate one individual to serve as members of his administration.

The President intends to nominate Elizabeth Hoffman of Colorado to be a Member of the National Science Board, for the remainder of a six-year term expiring May 10, 2008. Dr. Hoffman currently serves as the President of the University of Colorado's four-campus and 45,000 student system. She also currently holds a tenured faculty position in the Department of Economics at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She earned her bachelor's degree from Smith College before going on to the University of Pennsylvania, where she received a master's degree as well as a Ph.D. Dr. Hoffman then continued on to earn a second Ph.D. at the California Institute of Technology.

The President intends to nominate Raymond T. Wagner, Jr., of Missouri to be a Member of the Internal Revenue Service Oversight Board, for the remainder of a four-year term expiring September 14, 2004. Mr. Wagner is currently the Legal & Legislative Vice President for Enterprise Rent-A-Car in St. Louis, Missouri. He earned his bachelor's degree and an M.B.A. from St. Louis University. Mr. Wagner obtained his J.D. law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City's School of Law and completed a master of Laws-Taxation degree from Washington University School of Law.

The President intends to designate Admiral James M. Loy of Virginia to be Acting Under Secretary of Transportation for Security, serving at the Transportation Security Administration.
