Mrs. Bush's Introduction of the President at White House Conference on Missing, Exploited and Runaway Children
Ronald Reagan Building
Washington, D.C.

Thank you. Distinguished guests, thank you for joining this important Conference on Missing, Exploited and Runaway Children.

Everyone here believes that every child deserves to live in a loving, safe and secure home - because every child is precious.

We are here today because we want the best for our children's future. We want every child to realize a life full of promise and potential. And many in this room can help ensure that potential.

We all know that many major threats to our children today aren't a matter of chance, but a matter of choice.

Today, we choose to join a concerted, collaborative effort to save and improve young lives.

President Bush and I want every child to have a life full of love and laughter; dreams and success.

When President Bush speaks of children, he speaks from his heart. He believes, as all of us do, that there is no more important cause than protecting and preparing children for the rest of their lives.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to introduce my husband President George W. Bush.
