Nomination and Appointment
President Bush to Nominate One and Appoint One to Serve in His Administration

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual, and appoint one individual to serve in his administration.

The President intends to nominate James C. Miller, III to be Governor of the Board of Governors of the United States Postal Service, for the remainder of a nine-year term expiring December 8, 2010. He is currently the Chairman of CapAnalysis. Miller served as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget from 1985 to 1988. From October 1981 to October 1985, he was Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission. Miller also worked as an associate director in the Office of Management and Budget from January 1981 to October 1981. He has a B.B.A. degree from the University of Georgia, and a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia.

The President intends to appoint David Brady to be a Member of the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, for the remainder of a four-year term expiring December 26, 2004. Brady is currently a Professor at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution. He has a B.S. degree from Western Illinois University, and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Iowa.
