Statement by the Press Secretary
State Visit of President Aleksander Kwasniewski of Poland

President Bush has invited Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski to Washington for a State Visit on July 17-18, 2002. Poland has become a friend, partner, and NATO ally of the United States, and is an ardent supporter in the war on terrorism. President Kwasniewski shares the President's vision of creating a Europe whole, free, and at peace.

Poland hosted the President and Mrs. Bush during a visit to Warsaw in June 2001.
