Appointment

President George W. Bush today announced his appointment of Marilyn Carlson Nelson to be the Chairperson of the National Women's Business Council. She is presently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Carlson Companies, Inc., a global group of integrated companies focusing on Consumer Services and Corporate Solutions. The companies specialize in travel, hotel, restaurant, cruise and marketing services and is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Ms. Nelson was the Chair of the Travel Industry Association of American in 2000. She is currently a member of the Council of the World Economic Forum and serves on the Forum's Board of Governors for Travel and Tourism. She is a graduate of Smith College.
