Statement by the Press Secretary
President Bush Hosts the International Democrat Union

President Bush will welcome the International Democrat Union (IDU) leaders to Washington, D.C. on June 10, 2002. The IDU is an association of center and center-right political parties from Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Political party leaders from more than 35 countries will attend the meeting. The President looks forward to discussing compassionate conservatism, the importance of free markets, and efforts to advance democracy.
