Statement by the Press Secretary
President Bush to Attend NATO-Russia Summit in Italy

President Bush welcomes NATO's decision to hold a NATO-Russia Summit in Italy on May 28 and is grateful to the Italian government for its offer to host. The President looks forward to attending this summit at the conclusion of his trip to Europe, where he will be visiting Berlin, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Paris, and Normandy. President Bush believes that the summit will be a major step forward in the NATO-Russia relationship, and will advance our interest in integrating Russia with the Euroatlantic community in the 21st century.
