Nomination and Appointment
President Bush to Nominate Pike to be the U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Virginia

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual to serve in his administration.

The President intends to nominate G. Wayne Pike of Virginia, to be United States Marshal for the Western District of Virginia. Mr. Pike was with the High Point Police Department in High Point, North Carolina from 1964 to 1972, working his way to the rank of detective. From 1980 to 1998, he was a Sheriff with the Wythe County Sheriff's Department in Wythe County, Virginia. He was a Probation and Parole Officer in Abingdon, Virginia from 2000 to 2001. Pike has an Associate's degree of Applied Science from Davidson County Community College, and a Bachelor of Administrative Science degree from Guilford College.
