Visit by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew
of the Greek Orthodox Church

President Bush will welcome His All Holiness Bartholomew, Ecumenical Patriarch of the Greek Orthodox Church, to the White House on March 5, 2002.  Patriarch Bartholomew is the spiritual leader of over two million Greek Orthodox Americans, who add vibrancy to religious and civic life in the United States.  He is as well a leading proponent of ecumenical understanding among the faithful of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism.
