Statement by the Press Secretary

On Wednesday, February 8th, 2002, the President signed into law:

S. 1762, which extends current student loan program borrower interest rate formulas through June 30, 2006, and establishes fixed borrower interest rates on loans made thereafter; and permanently extends the availability to lenders of special allowance payments on these loans based on separate lender interest rate formulas.

S. 1888, corrects a drafting error in the criminal code concerning the unauthorized use of Olympic-related symbols.
