President Signs Recess Appointment of JoAnn Johnson
President Bush Signed the Recess Appointment of Johnson to be a Member of the National Credit Union Administration

President George W. Bush today signed the recess appointment of JoAnn Johnson to be a Member of the Board of the National Credit Union Administration.  The President announced the intention to nominate Ms. Johnson on September 14, 2001, and her nomination was sent to the Senate on November 27, 2001.

Johnson is presently an Iowa State Senator and has served in the State Senate since 1994.  She is currently the Chair of the State Senate Commerce Committee and was Chair of the State Senate Ways and Means Committee from 1996 to 2000.  She is a former teacher and farmer.  An Iowa native, she is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa.
