Statement by the Press Secretary

On Wednesday, January 23, 2002, the President signed into law:

H.R.3447, to amend various Department of Veterans (VA) programs by: (1) establishing geographically-based income thresholds in determining enrollment priority for the health care system; (2) establishing a chiropractic care program; (3) enhancing recruitment programs and medical provider benefits; (4) requiring VA to maintain special treatment program staffing levels by geographic area; and (5) expanding certain veterans benefits.
