Nominations
President Bush to Nominate One Individual to Serve in His Administration and Four to Serve as Members of the Judiciary

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual to serve in his administration and his intention to nominate four individuals to serve as members of the federal judiciary.

The President intends to nominate Margaret S.Y. Chu to be Director of the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste at the Department of Energy.  Chu is currently the Director of the Nuclear Waste Management Program Center at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Chu has worked at Sandia National Laboratories since 1980, in several capacities including Manager of the Environmental Risk Assessment and Waste Management Department and Deputy Manager of the Waste Isolation Pilot Project and Technical Integration Department.  Chu earned an undergraduate degree from Purdue University and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at the University of Minnesota.

The President intends to nominate David W. McKeague of Michigan to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit.

The President intends to nominate Susan B. Neilson of Michigan to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit.

The President intends to nominate Henry W. Saad of Michigan to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit.

The President intends to nominate Ralph R. Beistline to be United States District Judge for the District of Alaska.
