President Bush to Nominate Wood to be Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission

The President today announced his intention to designate Patrick Henry Wood III of Texas to be Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), effective September 1, 2001. Mr. Wood is currently a member of FERC and previously served as Chairman of the Public Utility Commission of Texas. Mr. Wood will replace Curtis Herbert, Jr., who has announced that he will leave FERC on August 31, 2001.
