Statement by the Press Secretary
Israeli Prime Minister to Visit Washington

President Bush welcomes the formation of Israel's new government and extends his congratulations to Prime Minister Sharon. The President will welcome the Prime Minister to Washington for a working visit on March 20. The United States and Israel share important strategic interests and objectives and enjoy a strong, long-standing relationship. The President looks forward to discussing bilateral and regional issues with Prime Minister Sharon, including ways to bring an end to the violence and to advance peace and stability in the region.
