The World Will Always Remember September 11
In Germany, U.S. Ambassador Daniel R. Coats marked the September 11 terrorist attacks in Berlin at 2:46 p.m. during a meeting of the U.S. working group of the Federation of German Industry, in the presence of Dr. Peter Ammon, Director General for Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the same time, in a ceremony at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin, Deputy Chief of Mission Terry R. Snell, along with invited German guests and members of the embassy staff, remembered the attacks and viewed the White House ceremony with President Bush live via the State Department's satellite television network.

Similar commemorative events were conducted at all five U.S. Consulates General in Germany -- in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Leipzig, Hamburg and München -- and at U.S. military facilities around Germany to coincide with the White House ceremony.
